Children in the Nursery at St Andrew’s in Meads took part in Science Week. The nursery children joined the Pre-Prep children in the various activities during the week. The experiment in the properties of ice and water proved to be a popular activity amongst the children. They filled balloons with water and left them to freeze over night. The next day they added food colouring and the children watched as the balloons changed into incredible shapes with wonderful shades and icy patterns. The nursery children then made a presentation to the reception classes.
Nursery Curriculum manager, Sarah Piper, said: “The children have had an amazing week and the advantage of working alongside the Pre-Prep children has been hugely beneficial. I think the highlight of the week was when the children watched a clip of Gene Kelly ‘Singing in the Rain’ and although we had to create our own rain, we all had a wonderful time dancing and singing in the rain with our umbrellas!"
