Simon Severino was appointed as Headmaster in 2010. He was born in Italy
and grew up in Somerset and Dorset. Simon read Geography at Hertford College,
Oxford before completing his PGCE teacher training there as well.
His first teaching post was at Culford Prep School near Bury St Edmunds,
Suffolk. He was a resident house tutor in the mixed boarding house and
had stints as first a Year Six and then a Year Four class teacher as well
as teaching Geography, Games and running the school’s activity programme.
Simon then moved to Dulwich College Prep School in London for the next
thirteen years. He was appointed as Head of Geography and took on further
responsibilities, becoming Head of Year Six, Head of the Middle School
and Deputy Head. Throughout this time he was involved on the games pitches,
ran many trips and contributed to the activity programme with badminton,
comedy and rocket making clubs as well as producing an informal drama
revue each year.
At Dulwich Simon met his wife, Emma, who taught Maths at the school. They
have a son, Henry. Simon enjoys riding his red Vespa and is an Arsenal
season ticket holder.
