In February 2010, the charities of Eastbourne College and St Andrew’s School amalgamated. It was a memorable and historic occasion, which marked the beginning of a new journey for both schools. The two schools continue to retain their distinctive identities and both will now benefit from sharing some resources, such as sports facilities and the forthcoming Birley Arts Centre at the College, which is due to open later this year.
Although the links with Eastbourne College have clearly strengthened in the last year, St Andrew’s is committed to providing the children and their parents, choice at thirteen, ensuring they choose the best possible senior school for their individual needs.
“Every child is an individual, which is why it is so important that the
choices available for our leavers are extensive. We encourage the children
and their parents to explore all the options open to them before they
leave at the end of Year 8 and the staff and I are always here to support
and advise them,” says Headmaster, Simon Severino.
