Children's early learning experiences are crucial in determining their future development. We strive to ensure that they are happy, secure and supported in their learning and sufficiently challenged by their work. Children are encouraged and helped to give of their best within a structured framework of friendly discipline.
When children enter the Junior department (Years 3 and 4) they are allocated a Form Teacher who bears overall pastoral responsibility for them. In the Middle and Senior Departments (Years 5 to 8) where all lessons are taught by subject teachers, the children are allocated a Form Tutor who monitors their well-being and progress on a daily basis. Close liaison is maintained between the Tutor, Head of Department, Head of Pastoral Care and the Deputy Head – Academic. In the senior department, particular emphasis is placed on developing independent learning and life skills in order to ease the transition from prep school to senior school.
