Art & design

Children explore a range of materials and learn to manipulate these to develop imagination and creativity. They work with clay to make pots and models and learn about various glazing techniques. Artists' works are used as the starting point for drawing and painting projects. Children learn to develop their drawing skills using pencil, charcoal, wax, inks and mixed media. They also experiment with collage, batik, wax resist, print making, colour graphs and dry point.

All children have the opportunity to attend an open after-school art activity and for potential scholars or for those wanting to develop their portfolio, a more formal drawing study class is run weekly.
